Jonathan Lipnick was born and raised in New York and arrived in Israel in 2002 after graduating from Indiana University. Prior to becoming a licensed tour guide through the Israel Ministry of Tourism, he earned master's degrees in religious studies at Hebrew University and at Harvard University specializing in early Christianity. Today, he works throughout Israel as a tour guide and freelance educator focusing primarily on the history of the religions of the holy land. He is particularly fond of leading urban walking tours which deal with all aspects of the landscape: topographical, geological, historical, archaeological, anthropological, and, of course, political. His tours are fundamentally educational in nature, using a combination of text study and site visits to convey the rich story behind the terrain. He speaks several languages including: French, Hebrew, German and Spanish. He lives in Jerusalem with his wife and three daughters and in his free time enjoys running and cycling.
