Thank you for providing us with such an outstanding day of learning and discovery. All of our students were commenting how much they learned from you. Your subject knowledge and keen sense of pedagogy are excellent. We truly were beneficiaries of your expertise yesterday. (J.L., Jerusalem)

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed touring Jerusalem with you, and how much we learned.  Your store of knowledge is impressive and your explanations were at exactly at the right level.  And you were incredibly patient with us.  Overall, you are a terrific guide.  I certainly remember visiting some of the same sites when we came to Israel 30 years ago, but I understand them in a way that I hadn't before.  You also helped us to better understand the early history of Christianity.  Some of our close friends are Catholic and we now have a much better perspective on their faith.  Two of our friends came over yesterday and we showed them some of the photos, especially the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.  We were able to explain it to them and they were both interested and moved. But more than the information, which we could have gotten from books or online (I actually have been doing some online research) you provided a context for understanding everything we saw and left us with a program for further study and reflection.  We have been talking particularly about your Thanksgiving analogy and the idea that it doesn't really matter if the sites are truly the places where the events they commemorate actually took place.  We have been reflecting on your observation that the fact that these sites have been visited for 15 centuries imbues them with deep meaning. (B.R., New York)

Jonathan led us on the most in-depth and personalized tour of Jerusalem's Old City of all the guided tours I've taken. He colorfully related both stories and facts, contending historical perspectives, and his own joy and passion for the places we visited. He's a thinking persons' guide. I highly, highly recommend him.  (B.M., Seattle)

Our tour with Jonathan was breathtaking, informative, and fun.  The two days my family and I spent with Jonathan in Jerusalem and the Galilee were packed full of interesting sites and unexpected treasures: monasteries deep in the desert and outlooks over the green Jezreel valley.  Not only does Jonathan have a deep knowledge of the religions of the Holy Land, which allowed us to understand the story of intertwining faiths in this land from antiquity to the present day, but he has an impressive ability to connect with people of widely different backgrounds.  Our extended family includes people who know Israel well and those who had never been there before, and Jonathan made sure that there was something for everyone.  This was not your average tour. (S. T., Jerusalem)

תודה רבה על יום מקסים מלא השראה, לימוד ורוח טובה...חוויה נדירה. -- א.פ. תל אביב
